BBQ Card

Surprise Dad with a cheerful BBQ card this Father’s Day! The card opens up, leaving plenty of room for a heartfelt message on the inside.

Write a playful note inside, like “Dad, You’re the King of the Grill!” or “Happy Father’s Day to the BBQ King!”

Putting this craft together is simple, especially since we’ve included a free template. You can access it at the end of the post.

Materials Required for a BBQ Card

• Cardstock in assorted colors – we used grey, black and white.
• Black Marker
• Glue – Regular liquid glue or a glue stick will work. Because the project uses paper, I like using a glue stick for the cardstock and a stronger adhesive for the googly eyes.
• Large Googly Eyes
• BBQ Card template – the FREE template can be found at the end of the post.

How to Create a BBQ Grill Card

1. Download and print the free template from the end of the post, then trace all of the pieces onto your chosen cardstock.

We used grey cardstock for the legs, black and white for the wheel, and black for the top of the BBQ.

2. Build the leg pieces by sandwiching the shorter section between the two longer pieces, then glue everything securely in place.

3. Glue the two round wheel pieces together and attach the finished wheel to one of the legs.

4. Cut a separate strip of paper to fit across the bottom of the grill, then glue it along the top of this section.

Note: The template does not include this strip. Since it is only a narrow straight piece, use the lower black BBQ section to estimate and cut a matching strip.

5. Glue the black handle onto the upper portion of the BBQ.

6. Add two large googly eyes to the top of the BBQ.

7. Using the rectangle template on page 2, cut the center section of the card from white cardstock. You can also print the rectangle directly onto white cardstock before cutting it out.

Fold the paper into four evenly sized sections using an accordion fold.

8. Write your special Father’s Day note in the middle two folded sections of the white paper.

9. Glue the top and bottom folded sections of the white cardstock to the upper and lower black BBQ

parts.

The card is finished and ready for Dad! He’ll love opening the BBQ to reveal the thoughtful message hidden inside.
