Children of all ages can create these adorable cards, regardless of whether their feet are large or small. Just stamp a footprint onto paper, then paint a pond, sand bunker, and flagpole around it!

Materials Required
- Cardstock – white, green, red, and black
- Tempera paint – green, blue, and beige (or combine a little brown paint with white)
- Paintbrushes – one medium and one small
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Glue stick
- Marker
How to Craft a Footprint Father’s Day Card
1. Create the footprints.
Start by setting up a comfortable crafting space.
You’ll need white cardstock, green tempera paint, and a medium paintbrush, along with baby wipes, clean towels, and a large bowl or dish of warm, soapy water. A small step stool or child-sized chair may also make the footprint stamping process more convenient.
Once everything is ready, paint the bottom of your child’s foot with green, non-toxic tempera paint. Gently guide their foot onto the white cardstock and press down evenly to create a distinct print.
Apply more paint and stamp a second print – you will need one footprint for each card.
Allow the artwork to dry completely. Then wash the paint from your child’s foot with the warm, soapy water.
2. Paint the golf course details.
Using a small brush and light blue paint, add a curved pond along one side of the footprint.
On the other side, paint a sand bunker with beige paint. Allow all of the painted sections to dry thoroughly before continuing.
3. Turn the artwork into a card.
When the paint has dried, cut around the footprint, leaving a narrow white border.
Cover the back of the footprint picture with glue and secure it to a piece of green cardstock.
To make it a card: leave enough green cardstock showing along one side of the footprint.
Fold the green cardstock in half, placing the painted footprint close to the crease and keeping a narrow green strip visible next to it.
Cut around the footprint through both layers of green cardstock. Take care not to cut through the folded edge, since it needs to remain attached!
4. Add the flagpole and hole.
Use the hole punch to make a small circle from black cardstock. Cut a narrow rectangle about 2″ long and 1/8″ wide for the flagpole, then create a tiny triangle from red cardstock for the flag.
Glue the black circle onto the green footprint. Position the pole above it so that it reaches past the card’s edge, and attach the red flag to the top.
5. Write a message inside.
Finish the card with a special greeting. Try one of these playful golf-inspired Father’s Day messages:
- “Fore! Cheers to the greatest Dad!”
- “You’re the best Dad by far!”
- “Simply putt, you’re the best Dad ever!”
- “Have a tee-rific Father’s Day!”
