Easter Scavenger Hunt For Kids
Kids will love following the clues in this Easter scavenger hunt! You can download the free printable scavenger hunt clue cards at the bottom of this post. If you do not have a printer, write the clues by hand and personalize them with colorful drawings or stickers.
The clue cards fit onto 2 printable pages and provide 12 clues in total.
Each card has a number to guide you through the intended order, but you can easily change the sequence.
The first and last clues are the only ones that must remain in place. Arrange the remaining cards however you like!
Want to make the activity last longer? Add a few homemade clues of your own before the final card.
Indoor Scavenger Hunt Tips:
To challenge older kids, tuck each indoor clue in a less noticeable location. For example, when a card says “look by the laundry hamper,” hide it inside the hamper. For younger children, leave the card on top of it or somewhere nearby so it is easier to find.
Outdoor Easter Scavenger Hunt Tips:
The outdoor version features 2 fill-in-the-blank cards. Because every yard and outdoor space is different, several clues are left open for you to customize. You can use them for unique objects or areas around your own home.
Some options may include:
- basketball hoop
- vegetable patch
- patio
- water fountain
- storage shed
- toy bin
- sandbox
If a clue does not work for your outdoor area, simply leave it out and enjoy the hunt with 11 cards. You can also cover the listed location with correction fluid or a piece of paper and add a more suitable hiding spot. The clues were created to work well for a wide range of families and homes.
Extra details about some outdoor hiding places:
Card #2: Place this card on an outdoor bench or chair.
Card #10: Tuck it near your child’s bicycle. If your child does not have one, hide it near a scooter, wagon, or stroller.
Card #11: Leave it next to the garden hose or an outdoor faucet.
You may add a tiny surprise to each clue and reserve a bigger gift for the final discovery. You could also present one large Easter basket once the hunt is complete. Either way, kids are sure to have a great time!

How to Set-Up the Easter Scavenger Hunt
First, print the clue cards using the link below
1. Hide the 2nd card in the spot described by the 1st clue.
2. Continue following each card’s instructions to place the next clue until you reach the last one.
3. Add your own cards before the final clue if you would like to create a longer scavenger hunt.
4. When all the cards are ready, hand the first clue to your children and let the search begin.
